Bookshelves - Content to Rent Idea #24

It's Wednesday, so that means it's time for the next idea in my Content to Rent series! This series is a weekly post I'm doing that shows decorating tips for renters. In this series I explore decorating ideas that are stylish, affordable and easily removable.

Today's post is about using bookshelves in your home. You can get new bookshelves for under $50 or find great ones at thrift stores and garage sales for next to nothing! Bookshelves are a great way to add storage even in tight quarters. They are perfect for adding vertical storage as well, especially valuable if you live in a small space. In addition, they can be customized and used in any room of the home.

My favorite place to buy bookshelves (and shelving units in general) is Ikea. They have so many affordable options! Below are a few of my favorites, all from Ikea and most under $100.

As I mentioned, you can put bookshelves in pretty much any room of your house. I found some inspiration pics to showcase bookshelves in places you'd expect as well as some that you might not.

I guess the question is where can't you use a bookshelf? I am definitely partial to the white ones myself. I have taken a couple of basic white bookshelves and added some personality by backing them with fabric.

Thanks for stopping by to check out the most recent post in my Content to Rent series. I hope this post has given you some ideas about how to add color and personality to your rental! You can drop by again next Wednesday for another affordable decorating idea for renters (or those who prefer to change their decor frequently!).
